The Mediterranean Soil Collection

The Mediterranean Soil Collection — blends crafted to echo the lands of Scripture, carrying the memory of deserts, valleys, and gardens where God’s people walked.

Desert Rocky Blend

Stony soils of wilderness and drylands, harsh yet sustaining. Dry, stony, alkaline — blended to echo the rocky slopes of Judea, the Negev, and Sinai.
Plants that thrive here: Olive, Date Palm, Aloe vera, Acacia, Tamarisk, Broom Tree, Wormwood, Thorns, Mustard.
Even in wilderness and stone, life takes root. This blend reminds us that God brings streams in the wasteland, sustaining His people in the hardest places.

Woodland Blend
“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth: Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
–Isaiah 43:19

Rich, loamy soils of shaded groves and fertile hillsides, full of organic life. Moist, well-drained, and nurturing — blended to echo the woodlands of Lebanon and Galilee.
Plants that thrive here: Cedar of Lebanon, Oak, Sycamore fig, Laurel, Carob, Almond, Pomegranate, Myrtle.
In the shelter of the trees, life flourishes with strength and beauty. This blend reminds us that God plants His people as oaks of righteousness, rooted deeply in His splendor and standing tall for generations.

“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”
–Isaiah 61:3
Alluvial Valley Blend

Fertile soils of river valleys and floodplains, rich with silt and moisture. Deep, dark, and nutrient-laden — blended to echo the Jordan Valley, the Nile Delta, and the great floodplains of Mesopotamia.
Plants that thrive here: Wheat, Barley, Lentils, Cucumbers, Melons, Onions, Garlic, Flax, Papyrus, Date Palm, Pomegranate, Fig, Olive.
From the first gardens of Eden to the valleys of Israel, alluvial soils carried the blessing of abundance. This blend reminds us that God turns parched ground into springs, providing life and plenty for His people.

“The valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.”
–Psalm 65:13
Mountain Terrace Blend

Rocky uplands shaped into terraces by ancient hands, where the stones themselves became walls for life to take root. These soils are thin, well-drained, yet rich with history — blended to echo the mountain slopes of Lebanon and Galilee.
Plants that thrive here: Olive, Fig, Grape Vine, Almond, Pomegranate, Oak, Laurel.
Terraced fields turned hardship into harvest, showing how God’s provision makes abundance from even the steepest and stoniest ground.

“May the mountains yield prosperity for all, and may the hills be fruitful.”
–Psalm 72:3
Garden Hearth Blend

Soils of the hearth and home, fertile and sustaining. Loamy, enriched, and well-watered — blended to echo the fertile Nile Delta, the Jordan Valley, and the household gardens of the ancient world.
Plants that thrive here: Wheat, Barley, Lentils, Cucumbers, Melons, Garlic, Onions, Leeks, Figs, Pomegranates, Grapes, and Herbs of the kitchen garden.
Reflection:
The hearth was more than a fire — it was the heart of daily life, where meals were prepared, prayers were lifted, and the fruits of the land were shared. This blend calls to mind God’s provision in the ordinary and daily, reminding us that the soil of the home can also be sacred.

“Then the earth will yield its harvests, and God, our God, will richly bless us.”
–Psalm 67:6
Riverbank Marsh Blend

Moist soils of rivers and deltas, rich and fertile. Silty, loamy, and water-retentive — blended to echo the Nile Delta and Jordan River banks.
Plants that thrive here: Papyrus (ark of Moses), Reeds, Bulrushes, Willow, Sycamore Fig, Lotus, Date Palm.
Where waters gather, life flourishes. This blend reflects the abundance of God’s provision at the river’s edge, a reminder of His promise to make His people flourish like trees beside living streams.

“He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.”
–Jeremiah 17:8
Perfume Resin Blend

This blend recalls the desert trade routes where frankincense, myrrh, and other sacred resins journeyed north from Arabia into the land of Israel. Dry, sandy, and infused with the memory of caravans and spice merchants, this soil echoes the fragrance-laden paths that supplied the Temple and perfumed the anointing oils of kings and priests.
Plants and resins tied to this soil: Frankincense tree, Myrrh tree, Balm of Gilead, Spices carried by caravan.
A reminder that even in arid, barren places, God brings forth fragrance for worship and consecration.
“Who is this coming up from the wilderness like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all the fragrant powders of the merchant?”
–Song of Songs 3:6

Each blend is offered in hand-tied burlap bags, with a simple papyrus tag bearing the name of the soil. The bags are measured by volume, not weight — holding enough soil to nurture a young plant or serve as a symbolic planting.
From Havilah’s garden to yours, the soil and its wrapping are prepared with care and prayer, meant to be touched, held, and received as part of the invitation to tend and grow.
