Purpose and Covenant

Havilah's Purpose

In Genesis, the land of Havilah is described as a place rich with gold, bdellium, and onyx. This was no accident. Nothing is written in Scripture without meaning.

Havilah stood just beyond Eden — close enough to feel the river’s mist, yet outside the Garden itself. It was a threshold, a signpost. God marked it with treasures not for greed, but for remembrance:

  • Gold for purity, a heart refined in fire.

  • Bdellium for healing, resin flowing from wounded trees like intercession.

  • Onyx for priesthood, remembrance, and restored access to God’s presence.

Havilah was the place between wilderness and the Garden — the land of invitation. It whispered: “You may be far from Eden, but you are not far from Me. Come through Havilah. The gold is good — but I am better.”

So it is today. Havilah is for the seeker who never knew Him, the wanderer who lost their way, and the soul who longs to return. It is not about earthly treasure but about divine restoration.

Yet this restoration is not passive - we are invited to join God in the healing of His creation. Just as salt preserves and light drives back the dark, we are called to take part in tending the garden: planting, cultivating and renewing what sin has broken.

Here, we remember the true riches: to be loved, healed, and welcomed back into God’s garden - and to rise as stewards of its restoration.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
 –1 Peter 2:9

The Sower’s Covenant is not written in stone, but planted in soil.
It is a living covenant, revealed seed by seed through the writings of Grace in the Garden. Each seed carries a key — a whisper of truth hidden in the parables of God’s Word and brought to life by His Spirit.

As the collection unfolds, more seeds will be sown here. Together they form the way of the sower: a path of obedience, love, and faith that leads us back into God’s garden.

For now, these seeds are the first fruits. In time, the covenant will grow to its fullness — not by haste, but in God’s season, when the harvest is ready.

The Sower's Covenant

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed One

We sow only the Word of God.
Our duty is obedience, not applause.
We scatter freely, by faith,
trusting the Spirit to carry the seed,
for it is God alone who gives the increase.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Two

We guard the soil of our hearts.
Only God can plough the hardened ground,
softening stone to receive His Word.
We welcome His seed with love and perseverance,
that our lives may bear fruit that endures.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Three

We sow because it is God’s plan.
In Christ we are heirs, sealed by His Spirit,
partners in His kingdom purpose.
To sow is our inheritance and our joy,
for through us His abundance flows.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Four

We sow in every season.
Steeped in prayer, carried by Christ,
we scatter without fear or delay.
The hidden path is sustained by His strength,
and the harvest rests in His time.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Five

We sow the gospel in truth and love.
Not by show, but in humble courage,
our words, our deeds, our prayers take root.
Wisdom begins in knowing God,
and the Spirit makes the harvest sure.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Six

We guard the garden with vigilance.
The battle is hidden, but the roots are real.
What God has not planted will be uprooted,
and only His seed will stand.
Our strength is in the King alone.

The Sower’s Covenant — Seed Seven

We reap what we sow.
Every seed bears fruit in its season.
With patience we sow in truth and wisdom,
knowing harvest is sure —
for blessing or for loss.

These seeds are sown not for our glory, but for His.
And all are fulfilled in the greatest command:

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, so also you must love one another.”
 –John 13:34
